Botswana is a land of awesome contrasts – from the vast plains of the Kalahari Desert to the crystal clear waters of the world’s largest inland Delta – The Okavango Delta.

The Okavango Delta is formed by a river that flows into the Kalahari desert and before the river dies in the sands, it forms a great inland wetland that supports a wide variety of wildlife. Besides being an oasis in the desert, the Okavango, visible from space, is one of Africa’s greatest wilderness areas.

With open plains, lush riverine forest and waterways, Moremi is a pleasure to experience. Game viewing by Mokoro (dug-out) canoes in the Delta is unforgettable, birding is excellent and angling is rewarding.

The Chobe River system, within the Chobe National Park, is home to Africa’s greatest concentration of elephants and the best time to see them is during the winter months of May through to September / October.
