POST 1: 14 December 2011

The Range Rover Evoque Road show kicked off in KwaZulu-Natal yesterday at Gateway Theatre of Shopping in the busy Durban suburb of Umhlanga. The Range Rover Evoque Mall Display has attracted large crowds of people, both perspective buyers and the general public. The Land Rover Experience (LRE) Gateway track has hosted a number of Range Rover Evoque test drives where the LRE Instructors take clients through a series of obstacles which include a water crossing, see saw and side slope.

POST 2: 16 December 2011, Day 4 of the Range Rover Evoque Road Show

Gateway Theatre of Shopping is proving to be a really good starting point for the Range Rover Evoque Road Show as the display vehicles are attracting a lot of attention. As a result the Land Rover Experience Instructors have been exceptionally busy with customer demonstration drives on the Land Rover Experience Gateway Track. Even the rain yesterday did not deter the public and many went for test drives. There are three more days left at Gateway Theatre of Shopping before the Range Rover Evoque Road Show moves to The Pavilion Shopping Centre in Westville.

POST 3: 18 December 2011

The Reconciliation Day long weekend seemed to bring in larger than normal crowds to view the Range Rover Evoque at both the mall display stand and satellite Land Rover Experience track at Gateway Theatre of Shopping. The Range Rover Evoque Display vehicles a All Black Dynamic five door and a red and white Dynamic Plus attracted a lot of attention and curiosity from passers by - many of whom have not seen the Evoque up close yet. The Land Rover Experience instructors where kept on their toes with all the test drives over the last three days at Gateway Theatre of Shopping! More Images

POST 4: 20 December 2011

Today marked the official start of the Pavilion Shopping Centre leg of the Range Rover Evoque Road show. It is still early morning and the display vehicles are already in the mall whilst the Land Rover Experience instructors finalise the set up of the Mini Terrapod! This unique trailer that folds out into a 4x4 demonstration track is a one of a kind in South Africa. In the final build up to Christmas Day make some time and stop off at the Pavilion Shopping Centre in Westville and come see the Range Rover Evoque for yourself!

POST 5: 22 December 2011

Day 3 at the Pavilion Shopping Centre in Westville and the last minute Christmas shoppers were here in full force. The Mini Terrapod attracted a lot of attention with loads of on-lookers crowding the demarcated area while the Land Rover Experience Instructors conducted demonstration drives. Inside the Mall the two display vehicles also attracted a lot of attention where the Land Rover Experience staff, were continuously questioned about the Range Rover Evoques.

POST 6: 24 December 2011

Christmas Eve and the Pavilion Shopping Centre became a hive of activity. So busy that the area booked for the Land Rover Experience Mini Terrapod Demonstrations got smaller and smaller as customers looking for parking encroached on the demarcated demonstration area. Never-the-less there was still a lot of interest in both the Mini Terrapod demonstration vehicles and Mall Display vehicles. Packing up the Terrapod attracted a lot of attention too. The team enjoyed Christmas Day with their families before hitting the road for Richard's Bay on 26 December. More Images

POST 7: 27 December 2011

The Range Rover Evoque Road Show moved to Richards Bay on the 26th and set up early the next morning to start the Richards Bay leg of the road show. Being a public holiday the Mall was extremely busy. The Land Rover Experience Team became instantly busy even before the mall officially opened. Once again the Range Rover Evoque was a big attraction and both the Land Rover Experience teams at the Mini Terrapod and the Mall display were swamped by onlookers and curious people who want to know more about the Range Rover Evoque.

POST 8: 29 December 2011

When the Team settled into Richards Bay the Range Rover Evoque Road Show became somewhat of a talking point in town with many people visiting the two Range Rover Experience displays at the Boardwalk Inkwasi Mall. The Mini Terrapod display was a big hit and whenever the instructors did a demonstration drive large crowds of onlookers arrived. Many of these onlookers then ended up going for demonstration drives. The display inside the mall was extremely busy - the team fielding a large number of questions about the new member of the Ranger Rover family.

POST 9: 31 December 2011

The last day of 2011 saw the Range Rover Evoque Road Show team on the move once again! This time they headed home from Richards Bay to spend some time with family and friends before regrouping on 2 January 2012 for the start of the Eastern Cape leg of the road show. As has become the custom of the packing up process of the Mini Terrapod creates a lot of attention. Many people made their way to the display area just to see what was going on or to ask about the vehicles and the Mini Terrapod.

POST 10: 2 January 2012. Land Rover Experience Inchanga to East London!

At 4.30am, on 2 January, the Range Rover Evoque Road Show convoy left the Land Rover Experience Inchanga facility en route to East London. They travelling along the N3 towards Durban, before joining the N2 South, and heading for Port Shepstone. The convoy snaked its way through Port Shepstone on to Kokstad, Umtata and through the beautiful Kei Pass and finally onto East London. After an eleven hour journey the team arrived at the Hemingsway Mall, to check out the display areas and prepare for the set up the following morning when the Eastern Cape leg of the Road Show officially kicked off. It was an early night for the team at Thorny Croft B&B and the team quickly dispersed to their rooms. More Images

POST 11, 3 January 2012

The first day at Hemingsway Mall, East London and  the Land Rover Experience Team had hardly had time to complete the set up of both display areas before people started gathering around the vehicles and the Mini Terrapod. The Range Rover Evoques were the star attraction with many people having read about the vehicle or seen the advertising campaign which took place during the Rugby World Cup, enjoying the opportunity to see it in the flesh.

POST 12, 5 January 2012

The weather was not on the Mini Terrapod team’s side - heavy rain fell from early in the morning until just after lunch time. Later the weather cleared more and more people came to visit and experience a demonstration drive or simply to ask what the Mini Terrapod was and how it works. The Mall display team on the other hand had an extemely busy day from before the Mall officially opened until after 5pm!

POST 13, 7 January 2012

The last full day the Range Rover Evoque team spent at the Hemingsway Mall in East London was one of the busiest.  By lunch-time the mall was extremely busy and both the Terrapod team and the mall display teams were inundated, mostly by East Londoners who had not been to the Hemingsway Mall during the week. This wasanother long day for the team.  On Sunday afternoon the team will pack up and get ready for an early morning trip to Port Elizabeth, the next stop of the Range Rover Evoque Road Show. POST 14, 9 January 2012

What started out as an overcast early morning turned out to be a magnificent day as the Range Rover Evoque Road Show convoy departed for East London heading for Nelson Mandela Bay or as it is more commonly know Port Elizabeth. The convoy wound its way along the N2, through King Williams Town, then through the Great Fish River Valley before heading in to Grahamstown where the team stopped for breakfast. After breakfast the team tackled the last leg of the trip to Port Elizabeth. On arrival in the Friendly City the team headed to the Greenacres Shopping Centre to have a look at where they would set up the following day.

5 The Greenacres Mall, Port Elizabeth, EC

POST 15, 10 January 2012

The first day at the Greenacres Mall in Port Elizabeth started early for the Range Rover Evoque Road Show Team. As the Mall display vehicles entered the mall they instantly attracted while driving to the display area in the Woolworths Court. The Mini Terrapod team quickly set up their display area and straight away there was a lot of public interest in the Terrapod. Very soon both teams where back into the swing of things.

POST 16, 12 January 2012

The Greenacres Mall was constantly busy and the Mall Display team and the Mini Terrapod team had a continuous flow of interested people asking questions about the Range Rover Evoque. The Port Elizabeth people are some of the friendliest people that we have met on the trip and many of them had not seen the Range Rover Evoque in the flesh. Although the Mini Terrapod and the Range Rover Evoques on the outside display created a lot of attention the two Mall Display vehicles attracted the most attention.

POST 17, 14 January 2012

The first overcast day we experienced in Port Elizabeth and the team was expecting an extremely busy Saturday. This was, however, not the case and the day began slowly with only a few people doing shopping in the mall. By 11am the mall suddenly came to life and once again both display areas for the Range Rover Evoque road show saw a lot of traffic at the display areas. But this did not last for long and just after lunch the mall quietened down to a slow but steady flow of people visiting the display areas.

POST 18, 15 January 2012

The team awoke to a beautiful final day in the friendly city. Once again the morning started off slowly but suddenly it seemed if the town came to life and people kept both teams busy. Being a Sunday many of the stores closed earlier than normal. The Mini Terrapod team as always attracted a number of curious people by the time they had started to disassemble the Mini Terrapod. Tomorrow morning is another early start for the team as they set out from Port Elizabeth to Pietermaritzburg for the next leg of the Range Rover Evoque Road Show which will be at the Liberty Midland Mall in Pietermaritzburg. 6 Liberty Midlands Mall, Pietermaritzburg, KZN

POST 19, 16 January 2012

It was an early start once again for the Range Rover Evoque Road Show team when they left the friendly city of Port Elizabeth at 4am enroute to The Liberty Midlands Mall in Pietermaritzburg. The route took them through the historical towns of Grahams Town and King Williams Town before travelling through Umtata and on to Kokstad. From Kokstad they travelled via the Richmond Road which is one of the most fantastic routes the team had followed. On arriving in Pietermaritzburg, they dropped the Terrapod off. Ready for the following morning.

POST 20, 17 January 2012

On Day 1 at the Liberty Midlands Mall in Pietermaritzburg, both the Mall Display team and the Terrapod team were set up and ready for action by 9am when the mall opened. The day started off slowly with only a few enquires and as the day progressed the mall became busier and busier. Unfortunately the location of the Terrapod was on the opposite side of the mall and not as visible as it has been at other malls. The Terrapod team had an exceptionally quiet day.

POST 21, 19 January 2012

The Midlands Mall slowly started to wake up as the weekend approached and there was a lot more interest on the Range Rover Evoques as well as the demonstration drives on the Mini Terrapod. Mark Rautenbach from Land Rover Pietermaritzburg made good use of both the Mall display and the Terrapod display by bringing clients across from the dealership to the Mall.

POST 22, 21 January 2012

On Saturday morning, the Mall display team was overwhelmed by the amount of interest in the Range Rover Evoque but, again the Terrapod team experienced a rather slow day again, almost “hidden away” at the opposite end of the mall.

POST 23, 22 January 2012

The last day at the Liberty Midlands Mall was a typical Sunday with the two teams having a few enquiries and demonstration drives. As the teams have become accustomed to the interest in the displays, and even while either disassembling the Terrapod or moving the vehicles out of the mall, picked up a bit. Many of the people we spoke to on the last day at the Liberty Midlands Mall seemed unaware that we had been there for the whole week.

7 Riverside Mall, Nelspruit, MP

POST 24, 23 January 2012

The Road Show team left Land Rover Experience Inchanga at 4am enroute to the Liberty Midlands Mall to collect the Terrapod, before heading to Nelspruit for the last leg of the Range Rover Evoque Road Show. We made really good time due to the light traffic and arrived in Nelspruit just after 5pm. The Terrapod was placed in the allocated area, directly in front of the main entrance of the Riverside Mall. The team made their way to their B&B for some well deserved rest.

POST 25, 24 January 2012

The team, which by now was working like a well oiled machine, quickly set up inside the mall and the Terrapod was up and running just after 830am. A half an hour before the mall officially opened. The fantastic set up, with the mall team being only a few hundred metres from the Terrapod display team and, the enthusiastic involvement of Land Rover Nelspruit, by bringing business cards, pamphlets, price lists and a banner, set the Road Show team up for a very successful week.
