GPS Map Read Error

Hi Discovery owners & those in the trade. I have recenly picked up a problem with my D3 wherre it states 'Map Read Error' on the screne when I try to use the sat nav. Do I need to replace the CD in the drive or is the entire unit faulty? Can anyone shed some light on this? Much appreciated.
